Years later, when Jack Miser died, he went to heaven's door thinking that's the only place for him to go from the devil promised not to take his soul. However, St. Pierre said that his evil deeds, when he was still alive would lose its entry into heaven. In no other place to go, Jack went greedy gates of hell the devil is waiting to accept. However, the devil proved to be a man of words. Stingy Jack was not accepted in hell is because of his bet with the devil. Instead, the devil handed Stingy Jack the lantern to guide him on the road. Jack O'Lantern placed inside a carved pumpkin (or a turnip in other versions) and desperately seeks a place where his soul can rest. Just as scary creatures, without a place where their minds could not linger, Jack traveled the world living totting his "Jack O Lantern".
What Have Become Pumpkins for Halloween
The traditional Jack O 'Lantern was brought to America later in 1800 by Irish immigrants. Since then, pumpkin carving was one of the highlights of Halloween. Scary creatures, cartoon characters, vampires and witches are made of artistically carved pumpkins.
