Vampire Contacts

To see if we can be "turned" into a vampire, we must first examine possible explanations for vampirism. The site "drink and dream," lists five theories: 1) that vampirism is a genetic trait, 2) it is a spiritual issue having to do with the soul, 3) it is the result of parasitic or symbiotic entity inhabiting a human host, 4) it is a condition caused by damaged or missing chakras, lack of energy, etc., or 5) it is a symptom of a virus or other pathogens on the outside. I will discuss each in turn and give my theories on how they may relate to the possibility of transforming a person who is not already a vampire:

Genetic

The Science of Vampires by Katherine Ramsland discusses briefly the possibility that Vampirism can be genetic or it is a recessive gene for vampirism (ie both parents must carry the gene that is inherited from the child), or, failing that, the vampire is a result of the junk DNA "becomes active.

There are ways spiritual or metaphysical think it is possible to assign its own genetic code with manipulation or other metaphysical magic. I'm skeptical, but others believe it is possible.
