Twilight Zone 80s

Twilight Zone 80sUnsung Cinematic Gems

Richard Roeper were first made in his 2002 book Ten sure signs a movie character is doomed to failure, and other surprising movie lists. He has compiled a list of films panned by most critics, but admired by him. While watching the list (including lemons, like Angel Eyes, Ughh) sometimes makes me want to burp, I find encouraging. Since I began my journey into the study and criticism of the film, I found myself quite often watch movies generally hated by the critical mass. It is reassuring to know, while other critics are also champions unique film booed.

It is universally recognized by critics and moviegoers as no two opinions will never be the same, but the authors of the most professional film are too shy to confess their love of movies unpopular. Gene Siskel said that the difference of opinion can not be used as an excuse as to forgive bad movies. At some point, garbage is garbage. With this I agree and that is why on my list, you will not see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Films like those bad indefensible. The films on my list are not even guilty pleasure. A guilty pleasure is a film you in spite of his obvious poverty. Are not these the titles of movies that I think are not as bad as their reputation suggests. No, the following films are, in my view, good to very good films (I recognize that there is not that I consider masterpieces listed) for one reason or another struck a false notes with most critics. Take each of my presentation as a case, rather than defense, films. I hope to have some critics or moviegoers to reconsider some new ideas for rentals, but even if it encourages you to take an argument with me I'll still be fulfilled.

Hollywood Party (1934): None of the directors (including the legendary George Stevens) involved in this plotless spectacle of operetta took credit for the finished product, and of course there are plenty of skits and Corny and boring figures, but there are moments of fun and many wonderful songs in this medley of Jimmy Durante, Laurel and Hardy, The Three Stooges, and even a gorilla dance.

Goodbye Charlie (1964): Vincente Minnelli little known and criminally underrated GEM. If nothing else, the strangeness of the premise is enough to warrant a look. Prior to The Crying Game and Boys Do not Cry that comedy has given Debbie Reynolds plays a man. Well, not exactly, she plays a dead reincarnated as Debbie Reynolds. To add to this emotional confusion that we have Tony Curtis, never more sympathetic, as the best friend of the late decline of the girl ...? The pathos and psychological aspects of the film are very funny and sometimes sweet movie.

Pete's Dragon (1977): Of course, this is not Mary Poppins. Nobody ever said it was. But what does a family film it is wonderful! Admittedly, this is the best Disney movie of the 70s, a charming story of a boy and his best friend, a movie (sometimes invisible) friendly dragon named Elliott. The songs are fantastic and distribution, composed largely of veteran actors (Mickey Rooney, Jim Dale, Red Buttons, and Jim Backus) makes this film a fun family.

Cruising (1980): Ok, it pushes some hot buttons, so I'll start with a warning. I understand very well and agree with the offense of many gay activists took to the false and alarmist representation of this movie gays. To add insult to injury, I think it's irresponsible to director William Friedkin to begin shooting a year after the assassination of Harvey Milk. To be fair, however, homosexuality was a topic that most people (not to mention Hollywood) was inexcusable unknown until the late 1970s. Cruising tried to do the best she could with the slim naturally.
