How long does it take to reduce your blood pressure numbers from high to normal? I had high blood pressure a year ago but managed to lose 50 pounds and lower my bp. I just moved but I am used to my normal exercise program. I went to the dr. this morning and my bp was 154/107. (Yes, very high, I know) My doc wants me back in two weeks for another test bp. If I go into a regular routine of walking five days a week again, then I put my numbers in a few weeks?
Stop smoking, reduce salt and black pepper, eat oatmeal with cinnamon, walk if you are able.
My layman understanding is that it takes several weeks to almost any change in lifestyle to make a big difference. But I suspect that you * * you see some difference in a few days (problem is there any other things that make the difference that you might not be able to control.)
If you do not have your own BP cuff, I recommend getting one. It's so pleasant to have your comments, rather than having to troops in the doctor's office to verify. (Your pharmacist should be able to recommend one for about $ 50.) Make sure you take it with your feet flat on the floor, sitting on a chair for a few minutes to rest. If you take it first thing in the morning, which is probably the least variability from day to day.
Layoff sodium (if you have not already), eath fresh fruit (oranges and bananas) to make sure your potassium levels are high, walk out, and you'll be able to see the results for yourself.
Again, I'm sorry that I have no precise figures on the rapid speed with which you can get your BP down. I really hope someone answers your question with some good statistics on the issue.
Good luck!
depends on your medication, your lifestyle (how many times you work) and your diet.
