Iron Blood Test

Iron Blood TestWhat happens after a blood test?

Rh

Some women are described as having Rh negative blood. This can be a problem if the baby has Rh positive blood. During childbirth, the baby's red blood cells can enter the blood of the mother and the mother responds to foreign blood cells by antibody production to destroy them. If the mother became pregnant again with an Rh positive baby, these antibodies is happening to the baby and begin to destroy its red blood cells.

Thus, after giving birth, every mother is rhesus negative injection of anti-D. This mask is one of the baby's red blood cells that have been in circulation, so that the mother does not produce antibodies against them.

Women who are Rh negative blood were repeatedly tested during pregnancy to ensure they are not anti ¬ body forming. If antibodies are detected, the baby can be treated with blood transfusions while still in the womb.

Today, women rhesus negative do not have problems if they have a proper antenatal care at each of their pregnancies.

Rubella Test

If your blood sample shows that you do not have immunity against rubella:

1. You will be advised to keep well away from any child or adult seems to have the rubella (German measles sometimes called).

It is suggested that you are vaccinated against rubella after your baby is born (you'll need to avoid becoming pregnant during the next three months).

If your blood sample shows that you have been recently infected with rubella, you will be offered a termination of pregnancy (abortion). Because there is a high risk of baby being born with serious problems.

Anemia

If your blood test shows you have low hemoglobin levels, you can:

1. Be advised to eat more foods such as bread, cereals and potatoes are rich in iron, more fruits and vegetables that contain vitamin C and therefore help your body absorb iron.

2. Be prescribed iron tablets (which, for maximum effect, must be taken with meals the first and last day).

All pregnant women appear to be slightly anemic because their blood is thinner women than non-pregnant (the same amount of red blood cells, but much more diluted). Today, there is a strong feeling that mild anemia during pregnancy should not be treated as blood thinners probably improves circulation through the placenta.
