Cord Blood Storage

I live in Mass, will help pay for the storage of cord blood for private low-income families?

Not that I know. . . storage of cord blood is not considered medically necessary. You can make a donation, but I do not think the state will pay for you to keep for your own use, if necessary.

You may want to try calling the New England Cord Blood Bank - they are local and many couples choose to donate to them (as we wanted, but they do not take the twins for some reason). They have a program to open their bank cord blood donated to families with low incomes who need matches, etc.. . . and a program where you can apply for a grant of $ 800 for the cost to store your own. Being in Newton and be a local company, it would not hurt to ask.

Nope. As another person said, this is not a medical necessity. Its something that is extra.

If you can not or do banking, you should consider donating. It does not cost you anything but you will have some work to do leg put in place.
