Blood Tests During Pregnancy

Blood Tests During PregnancyHow do blood tests during pregnancy?

I just asked a Q on the refusal of blood tests, I'm not afraid of him to do, I just feel weak and / be sick afterwards, I really do not know why! It's something to do with the veins, I suppose, but I'm allowed to do so earlier. So how many blood tests that you need during pregnancy? I heard that you need about 4-8 but you can only get 3 if you're petrified, although I'm not terrified, I did not lose consciousness while being pregnant.

So why do u get an IV when you're at work?

Sorry I'm clueless:-P

Ok .. I am one of those who feel weak and sick during and after blood tests and I give blood regularly, too! Here are some suggestions that have helped me.

Drink plenty of fluids about 45 minutes or more before a blood test. The more fluid in your system, the easier it is to find a vein and get the blood needed. Ask them to put the thing in little rubber (tourniquet-like) on your arm, not near your elbow. I do not know why the elbow thing is taught. This is not an improvement and it makes me nausea as well. Ask someone with more experience. As someone who has fewer problems with blood draws to cope with the less experienced person. Have a cold washcloth, or a freezer bag or something and place it in the back of your neck. really helps. Do not watch the needle at all. Just look away and let them do their thing. I hope these help.

Unless you have complications, they usually draw blood from the first prenatal and again around week 28 and then sometimes in late pregnancy. If you have complications, they can draw blood every time. There are some tests that can be performed during the prenatal period 2nd or 3rd.

The IV fluid and the possibility of needing IV drugs. It is also used in case of emergency. The blood test is a needle stick with a couple of bottles made. The blood equivalent to about a shot glass. Just tell the person drawing your blood before hand and they can have your bed before hand. Make sure someone else out there to lead you and eat a meal before leaving. Remember these tests is to identify problems with your health or your baby sooner than later

I aroun 6 lots of blood but no iv where I live they are only one of them if you have or need a cesarean during labor anitbiotics

I always count my pokes. with both my children and I have 8 shots which included the IV and epidural.
The IV is to keep your body hydrated since you can not eat or drink during labor. But I think eight is the minimum pokes because if your diabetes test fails, you need to get more shots, and if you put on more medication during labor, which may be more moves.

I had blood taken 3 times but they took about 9 tubes together. They keep you hydrated while working as then you have an IV in case you need an emergency C section or certain drugs quickly.
