Blood Pressure Age

Blood Pressure AgeWhat is normal blood pressure over 51 years?

I want to know the normal blood pressure 51 years younger or differentiate the same? some people said that more than 40, the blood pressure will be different than 140/90, so, is it true?

AHA standards for adults are:

Normal: less than 120/80
Borderline (prehypertension): 120-139/80-89
High: 140/90 or higher

18 years and over

June 28, 2005 - controlling blood pressure can prolong life and keep heart disease away.

This may sound familiar. Now, researchers are behind the message.

Men and women with normal blood pressure at age 50 has lived five years longer than those with higher blood pressure. They also prevented heart disease for a longer time.

So say Oscar Franco, MD, DSc, and colleagues in the journal Hypertension. Franco is a research scientist at the University of Rotterdam Department of Public Health.

The importance of blood pressure

You may have high blood pressure and do not know. Many people do.

About one in three adult United States of hypertension. But nearly one third of them do not know, says the American Heart Association (AHA).

Blacks are particularly affected. Over 40% of American adults have a black high blood pressure. It often starts younger and is more serious for comparison with other breeds, says the AHA.

Hypertension increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, heart failure and kidney failure.

But the complications caused by high blood pressure can be prevented by treating the disease. A healthy diet, stress control, and active living and non-smokers are important. Some people may also need help from medicine.

Getting Tested

Hypertension makes its damage quietly. It is easily marked by a rapid, painless.

The test yields two numbers. The top number is called systolic pressure, which measures the pressure on the walls of blood vessels when the heart beats. Systolic blood pressure may be more important that we begin to age. The association between complications due to hypertension and high blood pressure is continuous - the higher the blood pressure, the higher the risk of complications.

I am roughly the same age. I have high blood pressure and I'm on drugs. The norm for me now is 120 over 70.
The doctor is very pleased with what he was 190/110.
I think the environment is 120/70.

Ask your family doc next time you see him.

There is no "normal blood pressure. Each individual is different because of HEMOSTASOS their bodies (I think it's the right spelling) which means that the stability of the environment inside the body. Some people have PVD (poor circulation) DVT (deep vein thrombosis) or CHF (congestive heart failure) all of these conditions can change BP. A baseline is usually determined by what people pressue is on a consistent basis. 120/80 may be good for one person, but most people who are generally active can have a BP 110/60, and feel completely well. Another person might have a BP of 160/90 and I will give you a headache or excruciating.

120/80 to 60.

120/80 is normal
140 is high

Blood pressure is the same for everyone, regardless of> age
120/70 is the norm. 140/90 If so you could be in pre-hypertension and consult your DR

You need answers to get your doctor advise on this, not yahoo

120 Handbook 70 is healthy. But I was once more than 80 130 and the doc was happy.

technically it would be 151/75, however, the new guidelines still want BP almost everyone around 110/60. The older you get, the more atherosclerosis leading to arteriosclerosis you're prone to. This fact alone makes it more difficult to control blood pressure.
