Blood Blister Treatment

Blood Blister TreatmentWhat is the best treatment for a blister of blood?

I have a blood blister on the gum business end of my middle finger that extends to below the nail. I read somewhere that you can use Epsom salts to extract the blood safe, or a sterilized needle. I do not have needle phobia or anything. Which method do you prefer to take care of it? Are we sure that the other?

Well, Epsom salts you mentioned can be used to reduce swelling, but if you want to remove it completely, you can sterilize a needle with alcohol or held in a flame until that it becomes bright red. Clean the area around the blister thorougly, drill delicately with the needle, and gently squeeze the blood flowing, then apply an antibiotic ointment and polymyxin / bacitracin or her home. Try not to use ointments with neomycin because it can cause an allergic reaction. Wrap it in gauze and cover with a bandage. Be sure to look for signs of infection, like pus, skin hot and red around the blister, swelling, fever or red streaks leading from the blister.

I thought you were supposed to just leave them alone?

Use a sterilized needle and pierce the bulb at the base next to the normal skin. This should allow blood to flow.

I do not think their is much difference. I would use a needle. Thats what my father did.
